Kyznetsov raised an eyebrow at Nadya and chuckled.
"You found my store? Lucky you did not enter. It is deathtrap to those who are not welcome."
He listened to Nadya's argument but had to disagree.
"I am sorry, but where would we go? It is same all over country. Think like fall of the Soviet Union. Only the scenery changes, not the problem. I say we stay here. We have supplies, we know the area, and we are fairly well armed and knowledgable of survival. I say we stay and try to wait it out. Survival, simply put, da?"

Vlad's sentence was punctuated by a distant burst of gunfire.
"Well...I suppose you're right. But how long would the authorities take to restore the peace, if at all? How long do you think we could survive holed up in here?"
As she spoke, there was a shout outside followed by a loud detonation and the window she was standing by shattered as buckshot slammed through it.
"Take cover!", she shouted, falling to the floor and drawing her Glock.
She glanced quickly out of the window and saw three raiders, one armed with an SPAS-12 shotgun and the other two with Winchester hunting rifles.
"Looks like we're going to have to use our shooters", she said to Vlad as another shot slammed into the side of the window.

Vlad ducked into the next room, his old training kicking in. He ran down the hallway and through another door, finding himself outside. He moved up to the corner of the building and peeked around the wall. He spotted the attackers still firing at the window and took a knee, ignoring the pain from his knee as he did so. He took careful, but quick aim and put three 7.62mm rounds through the chest and head of the shotgun armed assailant. The other two started to try and split their attention between those in the window and Vlad, leaving plenty of advantage to be had with their confusion. Vlad grinned and took aim again.
"Amatures," he muttered.

Nadya glanced quickly out of the window again as she heard the familiar sound of AK fire and saw one of the attackers fall dead onto the ground.
"Nice job, Kyznetsov", she said with a smile before standing up and taking aim at one of the attackers, who was half hidden behind an overturned trach can and seemed to be hastily cramming a couple of shells into his hunting rifle. She pulled the trigger and neatly sent three bullets whizzing through the air. Two of them missed, hitting the sidewalk, but the third slammed into the looter's exposed left shoulder, sending him sprawling onto the ground with a cry of pain.
As she was about to shoot again, the other raider emerged from his hiding place and fired both barrels of his hunting rifle at her. The buckshot slammed into the wall, causing Nadya to duck again.
Кизнетсов должен заботиться о другом. (Kyznetsov should take care of the other one).

Kyznetsov saw one of the remaining two fall from Nadya's return fire. He grinned and chuckled to himself despite the situation.
Good shot, but a waste of two bullets. I guess I'll have to teach her to shoot the Spetsnaz way, he thought to himself.
He switched his aim as his previous target was down and put a round into the last raider. His shot went low and hit the man in the lower abdomen instead of the center mass shot he'd tried for. The man fell to the ground but Vlad waited for a few moments in case more attackers were waiting for the defenders to leave the relative safety of their positions. After a few moments, Vlad stood and walked out into the street shouting 'clear'. He walked over to the groaning and wounded raider and quickly assessed his wounds.
"Gutshot. You'll die in fifteen minutes without emergency medical help. Too bad the hospitals are kaput. Well, too bad for you anyway."
Vlad drew his knife and knelt next to the dieing man.
"So I do you favor. You will draw attention here with your noises and I am not completely cruel so I kill you now instead of let you suffer. I will not waste bullet however. I use knife."
Kyznetsov didn't know if the man was conscious enough to hear him and, frankly, the Russian could care less if he did. He reached down and cut the raider's throat. The former Spetsnaz stood, wiping the blade on a rag torn from the raider's shirt and turned to look at his two companions.
"What?"

"What?"
"-Nothing really", answered Nadya with a shrug. Seeing people die was nothing special for her, at least not any more after all the fighting she had participated in.
She moved over to the other injured looter who was lying on the pavement clutching his bleeding shoulder and moaning. Nadya crouched down next to him, drew her trench knife and slit his throat, silencing his pained moaning.
Kyznetsov proceeded to pile up the three dead looters in front of the warehouse complex.
"Is that supposed to be some kind of warning?", asked Nadya with a slight smile.
"-It worked back at my shop" said Kyznetsov with a dispassionate shrug.
After this grisly task, Nadya looked around the street, listening to the noises of the chaotic city around them. A gunfight seemed to be taking place a few miles away, and more black smoke was rising from several areas around town.
"-Such glorious destruction", she said with mock grandeur, "I think we should fortify those warehouses, maybe block the gate by parking a van in front of it or something. What do you think?"

Kyznetsov stopped to consider Nadya's idea.
"We do not quite have the resources to block the gate efficiently and putting a van there would be a waste of the van, not to mention it is easily moved from either side. Just pull parking break and push, da?" Vlad gazed at the raiders' bodies he'd piled together. "But if we have some rope, or better yet, wire, we can use fear to keep them away. It worked against insurgents in Afghanistan so it should work here. Only this time, we have no worry of media censorship," he finished with a grin before looking around.
"Gdye amyerikanyets? On bil zdyes' momyent tomoo nazad."

Nadya looked around...no sign of the American that had invited her into the warehouse.
"У меня нет абсолютно никакой идеи. Он только исчез!"(I have absolutely no idea where he is. He just vanished!)
She looked around again before adding:
"Я надеюсь, что он не входил ни в какой вид проблемы... "(I hope he didn't get into any kind of trouble...)
"Bah, he'll show up again if he's still alive", she said finally, "let's get some rope and hang these stiffs on the fence like you said. Or we could chop their heads off and stick them on a pike."

Vlad grinned.
"I like the way you think, but putting them on the fence with their throats cut and obvious bullet wounds will be enough," he said chuckling. The Russian started looking around before his eyes settled on the dumpster in the alley from earlier.
"We may find something to tie them up in there."

Nadya went over to the dumpster and clambered into it, looking for anything they might be able to use to tie up the dead raiders. The dumpster was pretty much devoid of anything particularly useful; trash, a smashed up and forlorn TV set, a bag of what appeared to be dead leaves...
After searching the dumpster for a few minutes and finding nothing useful, Nadya jumped back out, shaking her head.
"There's nothing in there, just rubbish."
She walked back into the middle of the road and looked up at the building in which Kyznetsov had been hiding before.
"Do you think we could find anything in that building?", she asked.

Johnny walked out of the warehouse and sat down on a bench. Wow was the world a mess. Just a couple years ago the econmey was down and know we have no fuel. We should have been more careful with our resources. Johnny heard Nadya ask, "Do you think we could find anything in that building?"
Johnny replied, "There might be something in there it would be worth the check, as long as it is not filled with bombs or traps.

Vlad's ears perked up at the word 'traps'.
"I was qualified in IED removal and Demolitions in Russian Army. I can disarm anything given enough time with the exception of Nukes. Those were not my area of expertise."
Kyznetsov slung his AK and looked at the others.
"Let's go take look, eh?"

"Let's go take look, eh?"
The trio went off towards the ladder Kyznetsov had used to get into the building the first time around and made their way up it one by one, entering the small offices within. The place had obviously been the home of some shipping company, and had been abandoned when civil order collapsed throughout New Orleans. As they walked through the landing they had come into via the ladder, there was a strange, demented laugh from somewhere in the building.
"-What the fuck was that?", said Nadya, stopping and listening for any other suspicious displays of mirth.
Whoever had laughed was not sane, and a madman in an abandoned office in the middle of huge civil unrest and social upheaval could only spell trouble.
Nadya drew her Glock and said cooly:
"Should Mr Nutcracker turn out to be violent I'll introduce him to my little friend here."
OoC: don't kill Mr Nutcracker just yet...I want him to become some sort of villain for the survivors to do battle with. He's some kind of insane war veteran who escaped from an asylum during the chaos. He's an expert at setting up all kinds of traps, so the exploration of the building is going to be pretty tricky and dangerous.

Vlad cocked his head and nodded.
"Wait here," he said before disappearing into a side room.
He snuck through the building, his knife drawn and AK slung. How he managed to miss someone else in the building was beyond him and it was sloppy to boot.
Must be getting old...
He spotted someone walking around the room muttering to himself. The stench of a body long overdue for a wash wafted throughout the room and discarded food wrappers and rotten leftovers littered the room and a portion of the hallway. Vlad saw the man turn his back to him and the former Spetsnaz soldier quickly walked up and rapped the hilt of the knife across the madman's head, knocking him cold. Vlad straightened and looked around the room.
"Clear... I would watch step though. It is very messy in here."
